U.S. M81 Woodland Camouflage Rain Jacket
The M81 Woodland also known simply as “U.S. Woodland” camouflage pattern was the default camo issued to most branches of the United States military from the early 1980s (1981 to be exact) until it was phased out in the mid 2000s.
It is a disruptive high-contrast pattern with irregular markings featuring four different colors: desert sand tan, mud earth brown, forest green and shadow black. The Marines Corps reintroduced the camo in 2011 for its MARSOC Raider forces in the Afghanistan conflict and elsewhere in the Global War on Terror (GWOT), although operators have been seen wearing it long before that. The American Navy has also hung onto the pattern for its special operations forces (SOF) units like SEAL commandos and SWCC patrol boat gunners. Even though America's armed forces have largely moved beyond the pattern, it is still worn by cops, guerillas, soldiers, freedom fighters (or terrorists - we’re sure you’ve heard the quote before.) Rocked by both rebels and authorities alike, it is probably one of the most ubiquitous camouflage patterns to have ever existed.
